A large number of army personnel have taken position in two schools in Guimara upazila of Khagrachari, causing fear and anxiety among local residents.
According to local sources, on Tuesday (October 28, 2025), around 100 army personnel from the Guimara Brigade and Sindukchari Zone took position at the Boroitoli Government Primary School in Ward No. 8 of Hafchhari Union, Guimara.
Meanwhile, another group of soldiers from the Naikyapara Army Camp has reportedly stationed themselves at the Kukichara Government Primary School.
Due to the army’s presence, fear of possible harassment and repression has spread among the residents of Boroitoli, Kukichara, and nearby villages.
A local karbari (village head), who requested anonymity, said that just as the community was beginning to recover from fears of a communal attack at Guimara Ramsu Bazaar, this sudden large-scale army deployment has once again created panic among the people.
He urged everyone to remain alert and to respond collectively if any injustice is committed.
