In Khagrachhari’s Ramgarh upazila, the army reportedly conducted searches at the homes of three residents in Hachuk Para and Nagel Para.

According to sources, around 3:00 a.m. today, a group of 40–50 army personnel raided the two villages—Hachuk Para and Nagel Para. During the operation, the soldiers entered and searched the homes of three residents of Hachuk Para: Anil Tripura, Nanda Tripura, and Sanjit Tripura.

It is reported that the soldiers vandalized household items inside Anil Tripura’s home. During the search, the army repeatedly asked questions such as, “Are there any weapons in the house?” and “Where do UPDF members stay?”

Eyewitnesses said that along with the army, there were also four vigilantes, including Kiran Tripura (Dheeman) and Sulen Chakma.

After conducting the searches and finding nothing illegal, the army left the area. The incident has sparked anger among local residents.

It is noteworthy that since November 2, over a hundred members of the army and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been stationed near a location adjacent to Nagel Para in the Lalchari border area.

Sources also report that another army team joined them last night. Currently, army and BGB personnel are positioned in three different locations within the area.

Meanwhile, sources say that today, the BGB has summoned the elders of Nagel Para for a meeting.
