Santu Group releases abducted man in Dighinala

The armed terrorists of the JSS (Santu Group) have released Samar Chakma (37), who was abducted from Bibhas Karbari Para in Ward 6 of Babuchara Union in Dighinala upazila of Khagrachari, but only under certain conditions.

It has been confirmed that he was released on Thursday (20 November 2025) at around 3:30 pm from Jubomoy Member Para in Ultachari, Ward 8 of Babuchara Union.

At the time of the release, seven members of the Santu Group were present, including the group’s commander, Chinu Marma, and Ramesh Chakma.

Among the conditions under which Samar Chakma was released were: refraining from using mobile phones and avoiding all contact with leaders and activists of the UPDF. It is reported that he was threatened with the “death penalty” if he violated these conditions.

Earlier, on Wednesday (19 November) at around 1:00 a.m., terrorists led by Chinu Marma and Pavel Chakma abducted Samar Chakma from his home.
