An unidentified group of armed miscreants raided two houses, conducted searches, and snatched mobile phones in Bongoltoli of Baghaichari upazila in Rangamati district.
According to reports, on Wednesday night (3 December 2025) at around 10 p.m., four unknown armed individuals raided the homes of Lakshiya Chakma (50), son of the late Chitra Kumar Chakma, and his son Santu Chakma in Shubho Ranjan Karbari Para of Ward 2 under Bongoltoli Union. The miscreants entered their homes, conducted searches, and asked for the house of UPDF member Dhaneshwar Chakma.
Later, the assailants snatched one Android mobile phone and two button phones from Santu Chakma’s house.
Local residents said that about five minutes after leaving the area, the miscreants fired one blank round at a place known as Bot-tola, then left toward Korengatoli on motorcycles.
The victims stated that they could not identify any of the assailants.
However, locals suspect that “the miscreants may have been people deployed by the army.”
