The army has set up checkpoints by building bunkers using sandbags beside the road in Giriful, 2 No. Gachban, and Shiv Mandir areas of Khagrachari Sadar Upazila.
According to reports, from Sunday morning (7 December 2025), army activity began in these areas. They built bunkers beside the (Khagracahri-Panchari) road using sand and concrete materials in Giriful, 2 No. Gachhban, and Shiv Mandir and established checkpoints there. In the morning, soldiers conducted searches of tomtoms (battery-powered autorickshaws) in the Shiv Mandir area.
The sudden establishment of such bunkers and checkpoints by the army has caused concern and various apprehensions among the general public.
