In Jubonashaw Para of Ward 2, Chengi Union, Panchari Upazila of Khagrachari district, the army has once again conducted a search at a house and has reportedly set up checkposts by building sandbag bunkers in the Upper Pujgang Bazaar and Borkona areas.

According to reports, the search took place this morning (Monday, 8 December 2025). Earlier, on 11 November, soldiers had allegedly looted various items from the same house.

Locals said that around 10 a.m., a group of 40–45 soldiers from the temporary camp set up in Samiti Mango Orchard of Jagapara entered Jubonashaw Para on foot via Jagapara. They searched the house and then left.

Meanwhile, at the same time, a group of 20–25 soldiers from the Panchari Sub-Zone traveled in two vehicles to Upper Pujgang Bazaar. They built a sandbag bunker beside the road and set up a checkpost, then conducted patrols.

Another army team reportedly set up a similar checkpost near the Borkona Bridge as well.

Such activities by the army have caused concern among local residents.

It should be noted that for more than one and a half months, a large number of soldiers have been stationed in temporary camps set up in Chammey Adam area of Logang Union No. 1 and in the Samiti Mango Orchard area of Jagapara in Chengi Union No. 2. From these camps, they have been conducting operations in various villages, carrying out harassment and repressive activities against the local population.
