Unusual military activity in the Tabalapara area of Manikchhari upazila under Khagrachhari district has reportedly triggered widespread panic and anxiety among local residents.
According to local sources, a contingent of army personnel from the Sindukchhari zone arrived in the area early Monday morning, July 27, 2026, around 3:00 AM. The troops reportedly split into three groups, taking up positions across Tabalapara and the Chhotokalapani Primary School area. While one group returned to their camp at around 8:00 AM, another group reportedly moved into the nearby forested area.
Eyewitnesses also claimed to have spotted three masked individuals accompanying the army personnel during the operation.
Local residents expressed deep concern, stating that the military’s unexpected and unusual maneuvers have created an atmosphere of fear and apprehension throughout the community.
