ARMED men belonging to Santu group shot dead a CNG auto taxi driver in Khamar Para, Sapchari of Rangamati district.
The killing took place at about 7:45 p.m. on Monday, February 09.
The Santu group men came in two CNG auto rickshaws from the direction of Rangamati, opened fire indiscriminately at a meeting of CNG drivers, killing Sujon Chakma alias Babugulo (25) on the spot, and then fled in the same direction.
The miscreants also took away his CNG keys, mobile phone set and his money bag.
Sujon and others were holding the meeting to sort out a problem among them.
Originally hailed from Longudu Upazilla, he lived in Hazachari East Para under Ghilachari Union of Naniachar Upazilla and made a living by carrying passengers on CNG auto rickshaw.
