THE army on Thursday night searched three houses including that of a UPDF activist at Sukanta Mahajonpara village under Sindukchari Union in Guimara Upazila, according to sources.
A group of army personnel from Sindukchari zone carried out the searches during a raid in the village.
The soldiers broke into the house of Sudipta Tripura, a local organizer of the UPDF, and searched the inside. There was none in the house at the time of the search.
The army also searched two more houses in the village belonging to Jhorela Tripura and Kalpa Ranjan Tripura.
Nothing incriminating was found during the overnight searches, but the army men took Kalpa Ranjan Tripura to their camp.
However, he was released later on the same night at 2 a.m. after interrogation.
