Mongsa Marma (28), who was abducted from Toikorma Para in Hafchari Union of Guimara Upazila, Khagrachhari district, has been released by the abductors 32 hours after the incident. He was abducted from his home around 8:30 PM on Thursday (11 September 2025) by six unidentified individuals.

The victim, Mongsa Marma, is the son of Dungya Marma of Toikorma Para.

On the day following the abduction, local elders attempted to contact the vigilantes at the Guimara Bazar, but they denied any involvement in the incident.

Mongsa Marma stated that at around 3:30 AM on Saturday (13 September), the abductors released him near his house on the Mahalchari–Jaliya Para road.

Regarding the incident, he said the abductors blindfolded him and took him from his home in a CNG (auto-rickshaw) for about an hour. After that, they made him walk some distance on foot into a forested area where he was held. However, he could not recognize any of the abductors.

He mentioned that two out of the six abductors were Marma and that all of them spoke to him in Bengali. The abductors asked him whether he had committed any theft in the area. He also stated that he saw four of them carrying “heavy weapons.”

According to him, on Friday (12 September) afternoon, the abductors released him after receiving a ransom of 30,000 Taka, which was paid through one of his friends at an unidentified location in Ramgarh. His friend does not know the name of the place.

Meanwhile, on Saturday (13 September) morning, the Sindukchari Army Zone contacted Mongsa Marma and asked him to report to the zone. However, as he was unwell, they advised him to visit once he recovered.
