A group of army personnel has taken up position in Dewan Para of Ward No. 9 under Sadar Union of Guimara Upazila in Khagrachari, causing fear among local residents, according to reports.
Local sources said that this afternoon, Thursday (15 January 2026), two army vehicles initially entered Dewan Para. The vehicles were seen carrying essential supplies and equipment for the soldiers. Later, at around 7:00 pm, four more army vehicles arrived and joined them.
According to information from local residents, around 50 to 60 army personnel are currently stationed on the premises of the Dewan Para Government Primary School.
Residents have reported that the sudden deployment of army personnel has created fear and anxiety among the local population.
