A joint team of the army and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has taken up position at Gujapara Junior Secondary School in Ramgarh Upazila of Khagrachari.
According to sources, at around 3:00 pm on Tuesday (20 January 2026), a group of 10 to 12 army personnel arrived by vehicle from the Batnatali Army Camp and took up position on the premises of Gujapara Junior Secondary School via Salda Para.
At the same time, 10 to 12 BGB personnel also arrived by vehicle from the Khagrabil BGB Camp and joined the army team. It has been reported that they will stay there overnight.
Local residents said that concerns and apprehensions have arisen among the local population as the army and BGB personnel did not disclose the reason for their presence at the school.
