The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday afternoon, May 13, 2026, on the road from Pathachhara to Riyongmora in Guimara Upazila.

A man named Kaysai Marma wrote in a Facebook post at around 8:30 PM on Wednesday that the five of them were returning home at around 3:00 PM after finishing work. They were carrying work tools, including machetes, while their bags contained tiffin boxes, water bottles, and clothes. On the road from Pathachhara to Riyongmora, they encountered 12 Bangladesh Army personnel.

According to the post, the army personnel surrounded them, searched them, and recorded videos of them. Kaysai Marma stated that when he took out his mobile phone to record the soldiers’ actions, the army personnel seized his phone and deleted the recorded video.
